Wheat stubble is valuable No-Till on the
Plains, Inc. encourages producers to “learn not to burn” following this
year’s wheat harvest. Standing stubble is vital to a successful
continuous no-till system.

Successful No-Till Begins at harvest No-Till
on the Plains, Inc. emphasizes the importance of uniform straw and chaff
distribution during wheat harvest. Now is the time for producers to
install straw choppers and chaff spreaders.

Eight Kansas high schools -- Osage City,
Tipton, McPherson, Goessel, Clay Center, and Scott City-- participated in
an Environmental Education project provided by the Environmental
Protection Agency along with No-Till on the Plains, Inc.

Soils Home Study Course I is an introductory course designed to help you
in understanding soil and making management decisions regarding soils and
fertilizer. The Soils Home Study Course has 10 lessons with a quiz after
each one. Students may complete each lesson at their own pace. Provided by
UNL Cooperative Extension, these lessons, course materials and quizzes are
available in either workbook or on-line format.
