The farm is in the light brown soil zone and receives an average rainfall of 14". The native vegetation in the area is short grass prairie. Brian's grandfather experimented with direct seeding, and his father had limited success with no-till in the 1980's. The farm has been strictly no-till for the last 20 years. Crops grown on the farm include: spring and winter wheat, peas, canola, corn, and alfalfa. Brian his wife Anna and their five children are enjoying the challenges of operating their 8,500 acre farm.
